Breaking the Traditional Display for Ceramic Tile Products

Xinzhongyuan Ceramic Zhengzhou Future Store is a groundbreaking retail space designed by Zhou You and Cao Liang. This innovative project challenges the traditional way of displaying ceramic tile products and transforms the retail experience into an art installation with a sense of extension. The store represents Xinzhongyuan's forward-thinking vision and exploration spirit for the future.

The designers carefully selected every piece of furniture for the store, abandoning a unified style and opting for unique characteristics. Each furniture piece is designed by masters, creating a sense of belonging and making customers feel like they are part of their own settlements and social spaces.

The bar area of the store features an interactive screen that showcases scrolling images, introducing the brand's history, culture, and latest flagship products. This captivating display leaves a lasting impression on customers, immersing them in the brand's story from the moment they enter.

One of the challenges faced during the design process was creating a checkout area that could adapt to different scenarios. As the last node of the entire streamline, the checkout area serves as a customer service point during peak hours and transforms into a workspace for employees during quieter times.

The Xinzhongyuan Ceramic Zhengzhou Future Store project started in May 2017 in Beijing and was completed in July 2017 in Zhengzhou. The designers conducted extensive research to break away from the rigid display methods of ceramic tile products and create a space that transcends traditional retail.

This innovative design has been recognized with the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2019. The award acknowledges the creativity and resourcefulness of the design, incorporating best practices in art, science, design, and technology to improve the quality of life and make the world a better place.
